Hey Bruce 

hope you doing well could you please help me in changing the below pcf to a 13 bar from 5 bar pcf , I use H13 * ABS(MAXH13 < H13 AND H13 > MAXH13.14)  and if you can please give a template to change the numbers from 13 to 21, 34 or 55

I am going to start with the "template" and then provide a formula for the 13 bar version. Keep in mind that there really isn't a way to do this where you could could just plug the entire thing into a text editor and use the replace function.

Note that I am going to assume that you are actually converting a 2 bar version to a 13 bar version in order to make the nomenclature match. The other way to do this would be to assume you wanted to convert a 5 bar version to a 27 bar version. Neither description is really any better than the other, but you would need to use those values if you want the names to be consistent with each other.

For the first term we only need to check if the high (or low) was detected on the most recent bar. If it was , the entire formula is going to be false (so we will return C since C cannot be etiher > or < than C and we use this trick throughout the rest of the formula).

IIF(MAXHp < Hp AND Hp > MAXHp.r, C, insert formula for second terrm here)

Where p = period
Where r = period + 1

The second term can return true or false (so we return the value of the central high or low), but we don't need to check if this has been true previous since the high or low was detected. This is because it was detected on the previous bar, so there are no intervening bars.

All of the rest of the terms used the same structure (although in the third term you can simplify MAXC1.x or MINC1.x to just Cx). The first two terms actually use this basic structure as well, but can leave parts out since they aren't applicable or simplify out of the formula.

Where p = period
Where t = term number
Where q = p + t - 1
Where r = p + t
Where s = t - 2
Where u = t - 1

You take this out to as many terms as necessary (within the limits of the available data and without making it too long and slow to be practical).

Then you put a C > in front of the entire thing and substitute C for insert formula for next term here in the last term (since there is no next term to insert and you need the entire formula to return false as a result).

To invert the formula and check for lows instead of highs, replace H with LMAX with MIN and reverse of the > and < signs in the formula (this step can be done using the replace function in a text editor, although you might have to replace twice to get the > and < signs reversed using in intermediate symbol).
