Bruce is it possible to set up the an indicator, for example RSI where the plot style = Area, but is only shaded above an specific line for instance 70 and below 30.

Right now if I select plot style as area the whole indicator is shaded with the selected color.

Do I need a PCF to do this and if I do can you help me with that.

Thank you.

My first instinct is to just say, "No." (and this is strictly true, but with qualifications).

You can center the shading around something other than 0 however and thing can give you multiple colors (but not just above 30 and below 70 and it probably won't be anything like what you want).

Let's say you have RSI14 on the chart.

You could add the following two Custom PCF Indicators to the same pane but in their own scales.

Custom Scale: -70 to 30
Formula: WRSI14 - 70
Area Fill Color: Blue?

Custom Scale: -30 to 70
Formula: WRSI14 - 30
Area Fill Color: Red?

You get a sort of purple below 30 and above 70, but you also get blue and red above and below the RSI in between 30 and 70.

Bruce, silly question, but I'm waiting on a download, and didn't want to start a new thread just for this ...

How do you get the horizontal line to display just above your "-Bruce" autosig? HTML? Magic Ninja Dust? Something else? I like the look; might try it for myself.

Thanks!

<insert horizontal line here, LOL>

I think it is a signature file feature which is built into the forum system we use but which we haven't implemented publicly. I don't think there is a way for an end user to set up a signature file the way we have things set up.

Bummer. Hey, I'm not just ANY old public user - I should get special dispensation. LOL.

Btw, your idea above is genius. I have to run some errands but will try the techinque tonight. I'm assuming the process is the same for any oscillator, including the CCI(30).

I have a friend who I convinced to switch to TC2000 from StockCharts. She LOVES TC2000 but misses what she calls "Shark Fins" on her CCI(30) plot.

This should score me some points - but I'll make sure I give you the credit. Purple is even her favorite color. ;)

The technique is transferable. You just need to adjust the custom scales appropriately for the Custom PCF Indicators so they line up.

I would look at the resulting effect before making any recommendations to anybody else however. I think it looks a bit odd.
