Bruce,

I want to get a sense of how  easy or difficult it will be to transition from V12 web to V17 download with enhanced syntax.

When I download V. 17 and make changes using the new syntax are 2 separate versions kept on the servers or only one.

I am assuming v 17 works with all v12 pcf but not vice versa. Is this correct or do all v 12 pcfs have to me converted to v. 17.

Please give me an idea of how all this works so I know  what I am facing.

Thank you,

Don

If you create PCFs using the new syntax in v17, they would not work in v12. Any others not using the new syntax would be fine in both versions.

Stockguy,

   Thank you.

So I just have to be clear in my layouts that anything created using v.17 syntax will not be backwards compatible with v.12 web.

I apparently need a separate layout for any v. 17 creations to keep the two separate.

I want to preserve the ability to use v. 12 web in the future.

Does this seem like the best way to do so?

Please give me a better way if you know of one.

Don

Keeping separate v12 and v17 layouts and/or layout groups would make some sense if you want to make sure to still have layouts which will work correctly in v12.

You might want to start your v17 layouts by making copies of your most useful v12 layouts.

Bruce,

    Thank you.

I want to make sure I can fully use whatever I create.
