When placing a limit order, you can choose number of shares and the dollar amount is calculated, or the amount for the trade and the number of shares are calculated. What I'd like to do when placing a bracket order is to choose the risk for the trade and have the number of shares calculated. As I'd move the stop or entry up or down, the number of shares would vary to keep the risk the same.

And along that same line, with bracket orders, the risk to reward ratio could be shown, too.

Just a thought!

I made an indicator that shows me the number of shares per $100 risk, so that will work until something better comes along.

I'm scanning for a specific pattern, and I know where the entry and stop will be in that pattern, so with a little bit of math it can show me how many shares would be $100 of risk.

Basically 100 / (entry - stop)

Having it on the order entry ticket would be much better and more flexible.

Cool, thanks. Yes, I agree having it on the order ticket would be faster.

I'd also like the abilty to import data beyond symbols into lists -- things like a "target price". So, say I have a huge list of potential buys at limit price -- I'd like to be able to calcuate how close I am to my limit buy in the watchlist column itself.
