hi

I like to plot $nyad, which has values ~+/- 3000 above and below a zero line.

I then overlay a moving average over the $nyad, but the max/min values range from ~+/- 1000.

I reduce the opacity of $nyad until only the moving average is showing, but the problem is the vertical scale sets itself with the $nyad range, not the mov av range.

Is there a way to reset the vertical scale to the smaller range of the moving average, or any other way to get over this problem.

many thanks

It is kind of fortunate that the moving average is going to have such a large range. This creates the opportunity for a workaround which might not otherwise be possible.

Add an indicator without a fixed scale (such as MACD) to the same pane (but not the same scale as your plot of NYAD. Then add a moving average to that indicator and edit it to change the Data Source to use the NYAD plot. Then you can drag the opacity sliders of both the NYAD and MACD all the way to the left so the only thing still visible is the moving average.

You may also want to add a horizontal line at zero to the MACD scale.
