Confused. Which version of TC2000 works on a Mac? What browsers do you support? I have been using Chrome but not sure if it works on latest version of TC2000

Thanks

The most recent version of TC2000 which runs natively or in a browser on a Mac is TC2000 v12.5 (using Silverlight). You should be able to use Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer to run and install TC2000 v12.5 on a Mac (recent versions of Chrome will not work).

You can run TC2000 v17 on a Mac using emulation or virtualization software of some sort which would allow you to run Windows programs (such as Parallels).

bruce,

do you think that we mac users could use a more recent version (than 12.5)  without parrallels?

It s not possible thant windows users have v17 and we have v.5. we are tired about this different treatment

Version 17 is a native Windows application so to run it on a Mac you will have to use a Windows emulator like Parallels.

We use .NET to make the current versions of TC2000. Switching all of the development done in .NET to another programming environment is not a trivial undertaking.

We used Silverlight to allow TC2000 to run in both Windows and Mac environments, but Silverlight stopped being supported by most modern browsers, so we switched having .NET compile a native Windows application instead, but .NET does not have a way to compile native Mac applications.

Much of .NET has been open sourced and work is being done on being able to compile native Mac applications based on .NET. We probably won't have any newer versions of TC2000 which run on a Mac until this happens.

ok Bruce, but in theory, we MAC users are secondary customers....

using silverlight with most browser I see v12.5...is it not possible to upgrade at least the web version?

thanks

We probably aren't going to have any new Mac versions until .NET is able to complie native Mac applications. Until then, yoou would need to use emulation or virtualization which allows runing Windows programs in order to run versions of TC2000 newer than v12.5 in a Mac environment.
