Bruce,
I am considering installing v17 for a test drive. However, I don't want to have any hassles should I decide to revert back to using 12.6.
So does the install of v16 or v17 impact the 12.6 installation?
In other words, can I walk it back to 12.6 if that is my preference?

Installing TC2000 v16 or TC2000 v16 will not overwrite TC2000 v12.6. So you can revert back to Tc2000 v12.6 as long as you do not uninstall it on your own.
That said, TC2000 v12.6 is no longer available for download, so if you were to uninstall it, you would no longer be able to revert back to TC2000 v12.6.

Version 12.6 I was able to have alerts to notify me about trend line crosses and support/resistance line crosses. Version 16, no alerts. Why? I mean, I have only been a Worden gold customer for about 10 years.

The alerts need a real time service of sort to work.
TC2000 v12.6 has the BATS real time where only trades on the BATS exchange stream in realtime with other trades being integrated into the feed on a 20 minute delayed basis. This feed is not compatible with the trading features of v16/v17 and is not available in those versions.
So you can use BATS for alertsl in v12, but need to subscribe to a streaming real time feed in v16/v17 in order to use the alerts.
