I;m not really a "Newbee", and have benefitted nicely, thanks to Worden,

Still willing to lean. today 8/11/2014, most all of my stocks are up

but the BOPs are down.  Why is this ?  Is this do to profit taking on

a rising market ?  or some quirk in the BOP fomulaton. ?

I don't know how Balance of Power is calculated other than it is calculated using volume along with the open, high, low and close of price over time. Nothing is used in the calculations that can't be plotted on the chart.

So Balance of Power is "seeing" something in the price and volume action which would cause it to be down even thought the prices are up. A much better discussion of such contradictions is given in the following topic.
