I am looking to backtest several of my buy/short triggers acting only during periods that the market is bullish/bearish as determined by signals based on the SPY.  I have added SPY as a comparison symbol but seem to be limited in the indicators that can be added to the comparison symbol.  Is there a way to add indicators such as Chaiken Money Flow to the comparison symbol?

You can only add child indicators to a Price for Symbol indicator. These are things like moving averages or indicators with "of Indicator" in their name.

Chaiken Money Flow is a parent indicator and will always be based on the main symbol on the chart. It is not possible to create a Chaiken Money Flow indicator on your own as a child indicator, but we can create a Chaiken Money Flow parent indicator with its own Symbol parameter.

You may want to compare the attached Chaiken Money Flow with Symbol indicator with the built in Chaiken Money Flow indicator to see how the Block Diagram was modified to add a Symbol parameter. The same technique can be used to modify other Block Diagram based parent indicators.

Block Diagrams have been de-emphasized in StockFinder but the Your First 3 Block Diagrams video covers creating Block Diagrams.

You should be able to Open an attached Indicator directly into a running copy of StockFinder 5 (and save it from within StockFinder 5 if desired). You could also Save it to the \My Documents\StockFinder5\(Your Username)\My Indicators\ folder and then load it like you would any other Indicator (or Copy and Paste it there from wherever it Saves if you can't specify the destination directory when Saving).
