This question is beyond what we software trainers can answer.   I will move this to the Market Talk forum for you so others can offer their opinions.

basically you determine support, resistance, and trend using trendlines, and  moving averages. then using the various technical indicators to determine whether the equity is showing underlying technical strength, weakness, is oversold or overbought, and give buy/sell signals. then look for classical pattern formations, ie double bottoms or tops, triangles, head and shoulder patterns, etc, and enter a position upon pattern confirmation, given there is a good risk/reward ratio(so you'll need to determine a potential price objective and stop location beforehand).

see its simple.

cheers.

i think murphy's book would be better for a beginner, because it gives a very broad comprehensive overview of technical analysis, stock market theorys, trading systems, and money management., and ties it all together. it'll give the beginner the "big picture."

i think the worden videos would be good for "further reference" once there is a good general understanding of technical anaylsis.
