Hello Bruce

Is it posible to create a PCF for a HCD (High Close Doji). You would be looking for a new closing high today, made above the high of a doji candle within (3) bars.

Thanks.

Not quite sure I get the definition, but if it means close above the close of the previous three bars with the close also above the high of a doji candle within those previous three bars.

C > MAXC3 AND ((C > H1 AND O1 = C1) OR (C > H2 AND O2 = C2) OR (C > H3 AND O3 = C3))

Hi Bruce

Thanks for the response.

It basically means that today the close of the current bar was above the high of the doji. Now the doji could have happen yesterday or the day before yesterday or the day before that. The signal is only valid if it happens within 3 bars of the doji candle. If the doji candle was on Monday then thursday would be the last day where the close above the doji would count as a signal.

Let me see if I can link an image. I have an image that I have been trying to link from my dropbox folder but it si not working. It works everywhere else but on this forum. I think I am doing it right, clicking on the image icon above and pasting the link that I got from dropbox.

Any way I hope you get the clarification on the PCF.

Thanks

If you don't need the current bar to be a new closing high today and you just need the close to be above the high of the doji candles (mentioned in the original post but not the clarification), then you can eliminate the first part of the formula.

(C > H1 AND O1 = C1) OR (C > H2 AND O2 = C2) OR (C > H3 AND O3 = C3)

That is correct Bruce Today's close does not need to be a new high, just higher than the high of the doji.

I asumed the revised formula above is the one?

Thanks

I think it is correct based on your clarification, but the only way to know for sure is for you to test it.
