I am using Scottrade for several good years and got used to their interface, but now they got bought by TD Ameritrade and commissions will sure go up pretty soon.

So I opened an account with Interactive Brokers just to test their tools. TWS and even Web Trader seem overly complicated for what I was looking for. Or was it my age? Then I said: since I use TC2000 for all my charting, scaning, etc.,  why not try the TC2000 brokerage? Commissions not quite like IB, but still pretty reasonable compared with my current Scottrade.

So I am looking for your feedback on using it please. I am mainly interested in option trading  - nothing crazy, just covered calls and cash secured puts. I searched through the posts first and could not find much talk about it, but still hope on some replies.

Thanks,

Corto

Why not use TC2000 for charting application an IB to execute your trades?

I find IB interface excessively complicated and frustratingly hard to navigate through.

You might want to contact TC2000 Brokerage directly if you have any questions.

I too am a Gold customer with an interest in the TC 2000 brokerage service.  But there seems to be a complete absence in these forums of any discussion whatsoever by active TC2000 brokerage users, which I find exceedingly strange.  I find it difficult to commit to a brokerage account with TC 2000 in the absence of any reviews, user comments, user forums etc.  In this day and age one can find a user opinion for every book, gadget, piece of software, broker, stock that exists---except apparently  for TC2000 Brokerage service.  Why not?  I am perplexed.

tuycoon,

TC2000 Brokerage is relatively new so I'm not surprised that you cannot find a lot of feedback/reviews on it.  Their clearing firm is Interactive Brokers, Inc. which is, of course, very well known. Since you're already a TC2000 customer, you have access to the simluated trading features in version 17.  If you like it and would like to trade with a real account, then just give the folks at TC2000 Brokerage a call and they'll be happy to answer any questions you have. http://www.tc2000brokerage.com/

I tried to open a TC2000 brokerage account, but could not complete the application for some reason I could not determine.  I talked to the TC2000 support staff and they were of no help so they won't get my business.

I have also tried ti use the test portfolios, but found the setup for a trade confusing and not easy to set up the way I wanted to use itl.

Just curious, did you call TC2000 support or TC2000 Brokerage support.  If you haven't called the brokerage customer service I suggest giving them a call and they can help you with account setup 1-800-508-9150.

I would use the cheapest broker to execute trades and TC2000 to watch price and study charts .

I have opened a brokerage account with TC2000 brokerage. my experience so far is not encouraging to say the least. one gets lost between the scanner, the IB and the brokerage. manythings are not clear. I called yesterday to both listed numbers (1-800-776-4940 or 1-919-408-0542) and I was asked to leave a messege which is unacceptable. I am giving it another thought before funding the account for now.

You probably can't find many user reviews because these guys don't offer market depth / level 2 quotes. No reasonable trader should be trading without market depth expecially when it's a availble from just about every pther broker with reasonable commisions.

TC2000's charting is second to none. I prefer their charting and scanners over just about everyone. If they offered level 2 quotes and time of sales....they'll be very difficult to compete with especially with their trade diectly from chart features and adjustable stop losses / take profits by a simple drag.

They're shooting themselves in the foot as far as brokerage clients are concerned but they're solid everywhere else.

I have used several platforms in my 12 years of trading, so far TC2000 is the best. Those guys were really thinking out of the box. Supa.

Tc2000 Is coming along way but, there are some flaws or some ideas that hasn't been implemented far as charting goes. My fear is The program would require a brokerage account to use everything that's available right now.  I don't understand the whole process for paper trade now if I was sitting here for 7hrs 5 days times of week. I would do the paperwork and the upgrades. Before the developers decided to limit lower level package users like myself who would read peters notes and, what not. This was hard but it’s fine, I wished that we could see the developers notes and etcetera
