Is it practical to use the TSV for confirmation setup on the VXX if your planning to trade it on a short-term basis. Most of my VXX holds have been less than 10 days historically. Would you use TSV 18 and ROC 9 for the settings with this anticipated timeframe or would you go lower?

The trainers can't give setting, interpretation or investment advice. I'll move this topic to the Stock and Market Talk forum where other traders are more likely to see it.

I dont know about VXX itself but there shouldnt be a problem.

Ive seen 5 day holds improve with TSV.

While a short period may be better Ive only used 21.

Thanks

NOTE: I believe that we should note the Worden Video library. Great educational videos available to cover TSV, BOP and the others in great detail. The TSV viso answered many questions.

VXX is  a monster, very difficult to trade, imo.   I would make sure I was confortable with TSV,BOP on other more traditional stocks before trying to apply to Such instruments based on the volitility indexes.

Do to the leaky bucket based instrument that the VXX  is you would be better off trading it short eventually you would be right.  Short it everytime it cross up the 100d ma.

That said it is due for a nice uptick here, after 18mo of new highs on the dow, and s&p
