Hi,

In TC2000 12.4, I want to view multiple symbols in different windows concurrently.

1) How can this be done?

I've tried tabs (at the bottom), boards and floating windows. But for all of these, if a symbol is changed in one window, the same symbol gets used in all the other windows. i.e. cannot  view different symbols concurrently.

2) How can these different symbols be displayed on multiple monitors connected to the same computer?

Thanks

Nanow,

You can certainly view multiple symbols in different windows. By default, your windows are linked together by symbol (this is a feature called Symbol Linking) so any symbol you click on- will change the symbol in all of your windows.

To modify Symbol Linking, click on the S- Icon in the upper-right corner of your window. Change this to Gray- Not Linked. You will need to do this for any window that you do not want to be linked.

Alternatively, you can link certain windows together by changing the S-Icon to the same color for those windows.

Symbol Links - Link a watchlist window to other tools so that a symbol change occurring in one will change the symbol for all other tools in the group. In the example below, if you click on a symbol in the main watchlist window, the symbol will also change on the middle chart which has a blue S link. The News/Notes window will also pull up news and notes for that symbol since it is set to "Listen for any Symbol Changes" (yellow group).

To see your windows on multiple monitors, you can use the Floating Window feature. This only works on the desktop version so make sure you are using the desktop icon for TC2000- not the website www.TC2000.com.

To float a window, click the down arrow next to the Move icon on any window. Once you click on the down arrow, select Float in New Layout Window. This window is now "floating" outside of TC2000 and you can drag it to another connected monitor.

Here is a video you may find helpful regarding Floating Windows:
