Topic: Bullish Fib retracement in a selected number of hours or days
Posted: Sunday, October 19, 2008 7:20:50 PM
Trade Ideas (http://www.trade-ideas.com/) has a way to show fib retracements of 38%, 50%, 62% and 79% within a selected number of hours. Can this be done in Stockfinder?

Also, can this be done in Stockfinder using a number of days? i.e. 50 days, 100 days...

That would be great...

Tradestation, Esignal, and even IB does that...

Thanks for the reply StockGuy,

Tradestation and Esignal have had this functionality for a long time.

Yes, I would like to have linked pointers among different charts containing different symbols as well. For example, if you were watching a stock, it's sector, and an index on daily charts, it would be nice to go back in time, bar by bar, and watch the stock's movement related to it's sector and an index.

Likewise, it is helpful to look at the stock's daily chart and, given the chart patterns, see how the hourly chart reactedAlso, if you see a chart pattern you like on the hourly chart, you can see how the 5 minute chart reacted.

Linked pointers among charts with different time frames allow this.

Regards,
Jeff

I like to have daily,  hourly, and 5 min charts open on one stock.

In Stockfinder 4.0, when the pointer is moved on 1 chart, is there a way to show identical pointer movement on the other 2 charts?

Bruce,

By linked I meant when the symbol is changed on one chart, the related charts will change to the new symbol as well. Nnjatrader, Esignal and Tradestation use different colors that link charts together.

How are they linked in Blocks?  Perhaps different instances of Blocks need to be running to show more than one set of linked charts?

Regards,
Jeff

Blocks questions:

-In EOD, can monthly, weekly, daily, charts be linked?
-For realtime, can daily, hourly, and minute charts be linked?
-How many different sets of linked charts can be displayed at once?
-With a set of linked charts, say daily, hourly, 5 minute on XOM, can the related oil index be shown and if so, what time frames of the oil index charts are available?
-Can we show the Nasdaq TICK chart? NYSE TICK chart?
-With a premium service, are earnings dates given and can they be sorted by dates and AM/PM release times?

Regards,
Jeff

Good idea...also have the pointer go to the same date on multiple charts...Tradestation has a Global pointer that works well...
